Our Wedding

Our story began in Dallas, Texas, where a walk on the Katy Trail quickly turned into the start of something special. With Sergi visiting Dallas for only a short amount of time before returning to the United Kingdom, and Brett living in Dallas, the chances of meeting at all, much less connecting so easily, were unlikely. Yet, our spark was nearly instant. From walking Holly (Brett’s puppy) together and reading at Grigg’s park to enjoying the Dallas skyline over rooftop drinks, we made every moment count before Sergi’s impending departure. But, by the end of Sergi’s time in Dallas, we knew this was only the beginning. With a tearful airport goodbye, we embarked on our long-distance journey as Sergi returned to Cambridge. After taking turns traveling abroad to see each other every month, countless hours of video calls, and meeting each other’s families, friends, and loved ones, we knew we’d found our perfect match. On November 24, 2024, Sergi proposed and, to no surprise, Brett said yes! As we prepare to make our home in the United Kingdom and begin this next chapter together, we are very grateful for the love and support of our family and friends. We can't wait to celebrate with you all in Peralada!

La nostra història va començar a Dallas, Texas, on un passeig pel Katy Trail es va convertir ràpidament en l'inici d'alguna cosa especial. Amb en Sergi de visita a Dallas per poc temps abans de tornar al Regne Unit, i la Brett vivint a Dallas, les possibilitats de trobar-se, i molt menys connectar tan fàcilment, eren improbables. Tot i això, la nostra connexió va ser gairebé instantània. Des de passejar la Holly, la gosseta de la Brett, junts i llegir al parc Grigg's fins a gaudir de l'horitzó de Dallas amb copes a la terrassa, vam aprofitar cada moment abans de la imminent partida d'en Sergi. Però, al final de l'estada d'en Sergi a Dallas, sabíem que això només era el principi. Amb un adéu lacrimogen a l'aeroport, vam embarcar-nos en el nostre viatge de llarga distància quan en Sergi va tornar a Cambridge. Després de viatjar a l'estranger per torns per veure'ns cada mes, incomptables hores de videotrucades i conèixer les famílies, amics i éssers estimats de l'altre, sabíem que havíem trobat la nostra parella perfecta. El 24 de novembre del 2024, en Sergi li va proposar matrimoni i, sense sorpresa, la Brett va dir que sí! Mentre ens preparem per establir la nostra llar al Regne Unit i començar aquest nou capítol junts, estem molt agraïts per l'amor i el suport de la nostra família i amics. Estem impacients per celebrar-ho amb tots vosaltres a Peralada!

CASTELL DE PERALADA: A FAIRYTALE WEDDING

The region is also linked to the surrealist art of Salvador Dalí. His birthplace, Figueres, and the Dalí Theatre-Museum are just a short distance away. The nearby village of Púbol, with the Castell Gala Dalí, offers further insight into the artist's life. Choosing Peralada for our wedding allows us to celebrate our love amidst the beauty and history of l'Empordà. We're thrilled to share this magical place with all of our guests, who will be captivated by the fairytale castle and the proximity to the stunning Costa Brava with its beautiful beaches and charming towns.
